About Me

Frank Nicolson (She/Her)

Hi, I’m Frank and I’m a Registered Behaviour Analyst licensed in Ontario and I've been supporting families using the science of learning (Applied Behaviour Analysis or ABA) for over 17 years.

I’ve been lucky enough to learn from world-leading practitioners in the U.S., Canada and Australia who’ve given me great clinical skills as well as taught me the importance of compassion, respect and the power of joy.

I love getting to know each family’s unique story, and tailoring my research-backed strategies to maximise their impact on the whole family’s wellbeing. My style is very collaborative, and I want to work together with families to help them be the caregivers they want to be.

Outside of work, my second passion is Improv Comedy, and I’ve performed on stages in Sydney and Toronto. Improv helps me to be a better listener, overcome fear, and always “find the fun”

Do you work with children who do not have a formal ASD diagnosis?

Yes, provided your family are likely to benefit from a parent-led ABA approach. We can discuss your child's specific situation during the Discovery Call.

Can I use OAP funding for your service?

Yes, I am a Registered Behaviour Analyst and am on the OAP provider list. Some private health insurance also covers behavioural services, so it's worth checking that as well.

What does a typical week look like for a family in your program?

You implement your child's strategies across the daily routines we have identified together (typically two or three specific routines per week) embedded in things you are already doing rather than added as separate activities. YThroughout the week you complete a quick data summary form, which helps me track whether your child is making progress.

Can more than one parent or caregiver attend sessions?

Yes, and wherever possible I encourage it. The more caregivers who are implementing the strategies consistently, the faster and more durable the behaviour change. If your child spends significant time with a grandparent, a nanny, or another regular caregiver, we can discuss how to involve them in appropriate ways.

How is this different from the OAP caregiver-mediated programs like JASPER or Project ImPACT?

The OAP programs are evidence-based and highly valuable. If your family receives an invitation to participate, I would encourage you to take it. The differences between those programs and my services are clinical intensity, individualisation, and duration. OAP programs are often group or hybrid delivery, run for a fixed period, and use manualised models designed for population-level delivery. My service is entirely individualised to your child's specific profile, delivered one-to-one with an Registered Behaviour Analyst every week, and continues for as long as it is clinically warranted. The two can complement each other well.
